The Birth of Venus

The Birth of Venus, a masterpiece by the Italian artist Sandro Botticelli, was likely painted in the mid-1480s. The painting depicts the goddess Venus emerging from the sea after her birth. I am deeply impressed by Maria Diaz's interpretation of this painting, and I used her chart as a starting point for my embroidery. I did not stitch the background and added some details (the original chart does not include them). I then crafted a stunning jewelry box using a wooden box that had been treated with wax.

I am captivated by Vervaco's creations and have a deep affection for cats. It's a perfect fit for me. Cats regard the people they live with as their cherished family, and they express this in various ways. When a cat purrs in your arms, gently caresses you with its paws, or sits on your hands, gazing at you with tenderness, rubbing its moist nose or licking your hands and face, it is evident that your cat sees you as her mother.
